According to a recently submitted permit application, Swig, a Utah-based drive-thru chain known for its flavorful sodas, plans to open a new outpost in San Antonio.
Coming to 9434 TX-151, the shop will soon neighbor establishments such as Chicken Salad Chick, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and Torchy’s Tacos.
What Now San Antonio reached out to franchisee Lexi Venuti to inquire about the expansion, but she could not offer additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing provides further insight.
Described as a “new ground-up building,” construction of the 750-square-foot facility is scheduled to begin on July 15 and be completed by the end of December. For an estimated $550,000, the work will be undertaken by Salt Lake City-based firm Babcock Design.
“The main purpose of this facility is to prepare and serve gourmet soda drinks. The building will only be occupied by employees. All customers will interface with a drive-thru window,” the project description continues.
For readers unfamiliar with the franchise, Swig specializes in customizable sodas, offering more than 100 potential drink combinations. Flavors include blackberry, coconut, and peach, to name just a few.
