International beverage chain Smoothie King is planning to expand its San Antonio-area footprint, according to a permit application submitted to the State of Texas on February 12.
Seeking permission to construct a new outpost in Cibolo at 857 Cibolo Valley Drive — near establishments such as Chick-fil-A, Tiff’s Treats, and Zaxby’s Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings — should the project proceed as anticipated, the outpost will mark the city’s first Smoothie King.
What Now San Antonio contacted the location’s franchisee, Sandy Chandrahasan, to inquire about the expansion, but she could not provide additional information before publication.
Construction is slated to begin on March 1 and be completed on July 30. For an estimated $160,000, Denton-based design firm Richmond Group will carry out the development, described as an “interior finish-out.”
