Coming to the downtown area, just off Castell Avenue, the eatery will land near establishments such as Faust Brewing Company, Stave Beer and Wine House, and The Hideaway New Braunfels.
Owners Todd Ratajik and Tai Phapa tell MySA, “We just love taking care of people, and we’re going to have very accessible items,” adding, “So, if people are like, ‘Oh man, I haven’t had much Thai food,’ or, ‘I’m really scared—is that spicy?’ we’re going to have dishes that are really accessible for them.”
In addition to Thai staples like pad Thai and tom yum soup, Thai Isan will offer a selection of lesser-known dishes from Northern Thailand — for example, Isan sausage, made with fermented pork and rice.“My wife is from Northeast Thailand – Khon Kaen,” Ratajik tells the journal. He continues, “We feel like a lot of the Thai places are good, but they all have the same stuff, and people like trying new things. We feel like we can fill that void.”
Thai Isan is slated to open early next year.
