American pastry company and coffeehouse chain Shipley Do-Nuts will soon begin selling handcrafted do-nuts and kolaches at a new outpost in San Antonio.
According to a recent construction permit application, the franchise is looking to open at 14314 Potranco Road, Suite #107 — just east of the Potranco Road H-E-B.
Franchisee Meng Kear — who already owns and operates three Shipley Do-Nuts across San Antonio — tells What Now San Antonio that the 1,700-square-foot shop will include a drive-thru and will open this November after renovations have been completed.
According to the filing, construction is slated to begin on July 3 and be completed by November 30, costing an estimated $180,000 to complete.
Born in Houston in the 40s, over the last 80 years Shipley Do-Nuts has grown to operate on the national level, with over 350 stores throughout the United States — 19 of which are in San Antonio.
