What Now San Antonio reached out to Panda Express to inquire about the upcoming outpost, but representatives could not provide further information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers additional insight.

Construction of the 2,697-square-foot outpost is scheduled to begin on May 1 and be completed by August 29, 2024. For an estimated $1,000,000, the job will be carried out by the Dallas-based architecture firm idGROUP.

Should the project continue as planned, Panda Express will land near eateries such Bill Miller BBQ, Laguna Madre Seafood Company, and Taco Cabana.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the international chain’s history, Panda Express was founded in 1983 in Glendale, California by the Cherng family. Now, with more than 2,000 locations across the US, the Cherng family continues to own and operate all outposts.

Whether the location will offer a drive-thru is still unclear. Follow Panda Express on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
