According to a pending license application, the chain will open at Suite 105 at 3166 S.E. Military Drive as part of City Base Landing — where it will join eateries such as Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks, and Subway.
What Now San Antonio reached out to franchisee Laura Gonzalez to inquire about the expansion, but she could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing offers some insight.
The job is described as “tenant improvement for a retail bakery chain” and construction is slated to begin on September 18, finishing by December 18. Costing an estimated $200,000, L+P Architecture will carry out the project.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the franchise, Nothing Bundt Cakes was founded in 1997 and describes itself as “offering a modern spin on a classic treat.” Since then, the business has opened over 500 bakery locations in more than 40 states and Canada.
Cake flavors include blueberry bliss, white chocolate raspberry, and strawberries & cream — and, for the celiacs, a gluten-free chocolate chip option.
This will mark Gonzales’s fourth outpost in the San Antonio area — in addition to her first unit in North West San Antonio, second on the West Side, and third, “opening soon” at The Shops at La Cantera.
