According to a recently submitted permit application, Hondo’s on Main at 312 W Main Street — near establishments such as Caliche Coffee Bar & Ranch Road Roasters, Pontotoc Vineyard Weingarten, and The Beach Basket General Store — is undergoing renovations.
The project “includes the conversion of the existing Historic Grobe Barber Shop (now storage) into a restroom facility, modifying existing grade changes to the adjacent pathways for accessible walkways to the restroom new facility,” according to the filing.
Renovations to the 408-square-foot space began in August earlier this year and will be finished late next January — costing an estimated $300,000 in total.
Co-owner John Graham confirms the news with What Now San Antonio, and assures locals that the restaurant’s hours of operation will not be affected.
