Located at 1915 Broadway, Suite 111, “the restaurant and bar will focus on a creative mix of Creole, Cajun, and soul food specialties along with cocktails,” the Journal reports.

“We want people to see this as a place where they can come in and grab a nice drink, but our bread and butter is going to be the food,” Co-Founder Joshua Green — who was also the founder of The South Chicken & Waffles — tells SA Current.

“It’s going to be Southern food with a sophisticated twist. We’re going to do things like traditional soul food dishes, but we’re going to use ingredients like Wagyu beef and fresh seafood. We’re also going to take a creative culinary approach to the sides,” he adds

Alongside Green will be Bruce Chambliss, owner of the original Bayseas Seafood, as well as additional partners.

Tryst is slated to open this summer. Stay tuned for updates.
