According to a recent permit application, local convenience store and fast-casual dining destination Food Box is expanding in the San Antonio area — planning to open a new outpost in New Braunfels.
Coming to Morningside Drive, the location will land near establishments such as Haut Tops Wine and Beverage Toppers, Sun Retreats Hotel, and World Car Kia.
The filing states that construction of the new, one-story building is scheduled to begin on January 10, 2024, and to be completed by August 10 — and will cost an estimated $1,500,00 in total.
Shakeel Badarpura, Food Box’s co-owner, tells What Now San Antonio that, in addition to retail space, the 7,500-square-foot location will have a kitchen and counter-service area, offering made-to-order tacos, burgers, hotdogs, and other American food items in a fast-casual style.
An opening date has not been announced yet.
